Now that we’re several years into the AI revolution, we can safely say that AI is here to stay. However, while AI might be more the norm than before, a lot could still change regarding how it changes our everyday lives.
One area where AI is just starting to make its mark is in video, and more specifically in social video. Along with the new Sora social app, Meta is rolling out Vibes, a new feed of expressive AI-generated videos from artists and creators in the new Meta AI app.
Let’s look at Vibes and explore what it is, how this AI-generated feed works in the Meta AI app, and how creators, brands, and businesses can best position themselves to dive into these new AI channels.
What is Vibes
Introduced by Mark Zuckerberg in an AI-generated post, Vibes is a new feed of expressive AI-generated videos designed for artists and creators to use in the Meta AI app. Users will be able to create and remix videos with leading AI video models for free as the Meta AI app, Vibes, begins rolling out.
Rolled out as an early preview, Vibes is the latest platform for creators to create and share short-form, AI-generated videos. However, unlike the Sora social app, Vibes promises to let creators use different AI video models.
The crux of what Vibes is offering is a way for users to crew, view, and remix videos with friends and other connections. As users browse, they’ll see a range of AI-generated videos from different creators and communities, all of which invite them to create their own videos, remix others' content, or simply share with friends and followers.
The future of Meta Vibes
While just announced, many are waiting to see how Meta decides to work with music with Vibes in the Meta AI app. Alexandr Wang, Meta’s chief AI officer, has shared that the company has partnered with Midjourney and Black Forest Labs to provide AI-generated video for this early version of Vibes.
According to reports on TechCrunch, Meta could eventually continue developing its own AI models to use with the app, too.
There’s still much to be seen regarding how Vibes operates with video and audio generation, though, as even the most advanced generative AI models still struggle with creating realistic-sounding audio, dialogue, and music.
Royalty free music with Vibes
While things could still change, at launch, it’s likely the Vibes will work similarly to other popular short-form social video platforms in how it handles audio and music. Most notably, music copyright and licensing regulations will likely remain in place, protecting artists from having their music and audio used without proper licensing.
For many creators, the best option for working with music in any projects, whether for popular social video apps like TikTok or Instagram or for commercial or corporate projects, is to use pre-cleared royalty free music from trusted music licensing resources like Soundstripe.
Soundstripe offers digital licenses for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and beyond, making it one of the best ways to protect yourself, your content, and your brand now and in the future.
