No channel or media-specific fees, no recurring royalties, ever. Here’s more good news: you have unlimited licenses. Go ahead, download as many songs as you want.

Livestream-Friendly Royalty Free Worship Music

At Soundstripe, we’ve been doing the work on our end to find out how we can serve you better.

Because in order to follow through with our mission — that is, to keep creators creating — we need to hear from you first.

What are your licensing needs? Concerns? Pain points?

Well, earlier this year, we sent out a survey to find out how we can help you do what you do, only better.

And what we discovered is that simple music licensing for worship livestreams, especially in pandemic times, is more important than ever before.

When you’re finalizing the music queue for worship videos, it’s important to have a resource you can depend on — whether you have weeks or days to plan out your content and license music.

Soundstripe is designed to be that resource for people who need quality options at a fair price and without lengthy licensing negotiations.

(In fact, the entire licensing process takes 3.9 minutes on average.)

But, even still, it makes sense to have questions about the licensing process — especially when you use royalty free music in a different way than a corporate advertiser, indie filmmaker, or wedding videographer might.

In this post, we answer one of the most recurring questions our team gets: Is the licensing process different for a monetized livestream versus a non-monetized livestream?

And to help you find and license the music you need, we’re sharing six of the best royalty free worship music playlists that Soundstripe has to offer.

Licensing For Monetized Vs. Non-Monetized Livestreams

The short answer to this question is no.

Licensing music for monetized livestreams is pretty much the same process as it is for non-monetized livestreams. And this is because all copyrighted songs — with or without monetization involved — need to be licensed.

The real difference for church communicators lies with music licensing for in-person worship services vs. livestreamed services.

Here’s what we mean:

Copyright law protects the use of copyrighted religious music during worship services. But this doesn’t technically cover livestreams and recorded worship services.

This is why churches in the Christian sector, for example, turn to organizations like CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International) for copyright licenses with the option for streaming licenses.

With this in mind, you might be wondering if Soundstripe’s licenses cover livestreaming for worship services — and the answer is yes.

When you find a song that you want to license, you’ll select the licensing button, specify what the song will be used for, and then download the track.

Once you go through these steps, your use of the licensed song will be protected in the livestream. And if you need to use the song again, you can relicense it anytime with one of Soundstripe’s monthly or yearly plans.

Pretty straightforward, right?

Soundstripe's House of Worship Playlists

Technicalities aside, let’s get into the music.

Here are six stellar playlists with a wide variety of royalty free worship music to choose from.

1. Soaring & Inspiring

True to its name, the tracks in this playlist are hopeful, inspiring, reflective, and much more.

If you want to narrow your search to music with a certain mood, genre, or characteristic, the filter functions make it easy to find compatible tracks quickly.

For songs that are hopeful and inspiring, you might choose a song like “First And Final” by Sounds Like Sander or “Higher Places” by Cody Martin.

Or if you want to find music produced with a specific instrument (say, the piano), you can sift through this selection

2. Livestream

This playlist is popular among Soundstripe members who livestream video content for churches.

By way of the filter functions, you can narrow your search to these songs that match the criteria of calm, atmospheric, and ambient tones. Or these songs that match the criteria of happy, upbeat, and medium energy.

The beauty of the filter functions is that you can play around with different combinations and customize the results based on your preferences.

3. Artistic

This playlist features worship music with an indie and modern feel.

For a folk worship song, you might opt for “Folk Road Parade” by Sounds Like Sander or “Soul Of The Mountain” by Clark Adams.

For an ambient cinematic worship song, a song like Greater Still’s “Not All Who Wander Are Lost” or Air Kid’s “Chill Heat Wave” could be a great fit.

4. Electronic

If you’re looking for worship music on the electronic side of Soundstripe’s library, this playlist has a variety of medium- to high-energy tracks worth checking out.

A few of our favorite songs from this playlist are “Carry On My Friends” by Mikey Geiger, “Fearless” by Daniel King, and “Ghost Limbs” by Jay Urban.

5. Ambient

This playlist has a range of very low- to medium-energy ambient songs.

If you need a low-energy song with a calm and reflective feel, you could license a song like “Towards You” by Acreage.

And if you need a song that is inspiring and hopeful, you might opt to license a low-energy song like “Slow Rise” by EVOE.

6. Acoustic

This playlist consists of acoustic tracks from various genres like country, folk, indie, and R&B.
