At its core, music is the expression of the reality of the human existence through intentional arrangements of sounds. It is the creation of new sonic colors and textures by combining those sounds to evoke particular emotions, moods, experiences, and both internal and external landscapes. On the most basic level, Outside The Sky is an instrumental project I created that consists of ambient and cinematic instrumental pieces. Yet there’s more to what meets the eye (or ear.)

Outside The Sky is a purposely wordless musical expression of years spiritual and internal work that is always ongoing. As a spiritual mystic, I have grown to see my life through “the eye that is seeing me,” and have done my best to convey that union through this music.
I am always touched most deeply by music I can “see”, where images, scenarios, and memories begin to play out in my mind’s eye upon hearing a particular composition. As evidenced by an innumerable amount of examples, music is the undercurrent of life.
We sing lullabies to our children.
We celebrate marital union with wedding marches and ballads.
We sing and chant to something greater than ourselves in acts of love and devotion.
We melt into a sea of people and temporarily forget our differences in the ecstasy of a live performance.
We mourn losses through street parades, dirges, and spirituals.
This music is meant to be a part of that canon of life. May it open your heart wider and touch your soul as much as it has mine in being the vessel through which it has come.
