How do I clear YouTube copyright claims on videos that use Soundstripe music?

YouTube can flag videos even when the music is properly licensed. Link your YouTube channel to Soundstripe and auto-clearance handles public videos for you, or paste a video URL on the Copyright claims page to clear one manually. Any monetization held during a claim comes back to you once the video clears.

Answering the question

Why does YouTube claim videos that use licensed music?
YouTube's systems scan uploads and can flag music automatically. A claim doesn't mean your license is invalid. It just means YouTube spotted the track and wants it cleared.

Clear claims automatically by linking your channel:

  1. Sign in to your Soundstripe account.
  2. Open the Menu, select Account, then Copyright Claims.
  3. Paste your YouTube channel ID, or search by channel name, and pick your channel.

Once it's linked, Soundstripe clears any claim on Soundstripe music after your video goes public, usually within minutes. Creator plans can link 1 channel. Pro and Pro Plus can link up to 5. Linking doesn't give Soundstripe access to any of your private channel data.

Clear a claim on a channel you don't own:
If the video lives on someone else's channel (like a client's), use a single-use code instead:

  • Generate a one-time code for each song in your Soundstripe account.
  • Add it to the video description before you post the video
  • For more than one song, separate the codes with commas.

What happens to my monetization during a claim?
Any money your video earns while the claim is active is returned to you once the video clears.
