How Do I Use Supe to Find Music?

Supe (short for "music supervisor") is Soundstripe's AI search assistant. Instead of picking through filters and keywords, you can describe what you're looking for in plain language, and Supe will find tracks that match.

Getting started

  1. Navigate to our music library.
  2. Click AI Search.
  3. Start chatting with Supe.

Supe is available to all users, including free accounts.

What you can tell Supe

Supe will chat with you and accept multiple input types, so you can be as specific or as vague as you want:

  • Describe a mood or feeling: "I need something warm and nostalgic, like a Sunday morning."
  • Reference a sound: "Give me a minimalist trap beat without vocals."
  • Share a creative brief: Paste in your project description and let Supe work from that.
  • Upload an image: Share a still image (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF) that captures the feel you're going for, and Supe will match it to tracks.
  • Upload a video: Drop in a video file (MP4, WebM, MOV; up to 2GB/1 hour) and Supe will analyze the mood, pacing, and style to recommend tracks that fit.
  • Paste a music link: Drop in a link from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, or any supported platforms, and Supe will find similar songs in the catalog.

Refining your results

Supe doesn't just give you one batch of results and call it done. You can keep the conversation going:

  • "Can you slow it down?"
  • "More piano, please."
  • "I like this one but need something without vocals."

Supe updates search results in real time as you refine. On average, it takes about 3 exchanges to land on the right track.

Catalog filtering

Supe searches both the Soundstripe Originals and Warner Chappell Production Music catalogs by default. You can filter to Soundstripe Originals only using the filter button at the bottom of the Supe search panel. Subscribers without the WCPM add-on will see this filter defaulted to on.

Tips & Tricks

  • The more context you give Supe, the better your results. A full creative brief will outperform a single word.
  • Uploading a video is one of the fastest ways to find a match, especially for social content, product videos, and demo reels.
  • You can upload up to 3 files per message.
  • Supe currently searches the music catalog only (not sound effects or video clips).
  • You can paste music links from 15 platforms directly into Supe for reference track matching.
