What are the single-use licenses?

Soundstripe offers four single-use licenses for projects that need music outside of a standard subscription. Each license covers a progressively broader set of distribution channels, so you only pay for the rights you actually need for your project.

Here's a quick breakdown:

  • Personal: Non-commercial use only. Great for personal social media, life events, blogs, and academic projects.
  • Digital: Commercial use across internet-based channels. Covers ads, websites, podcast intros and outros, internal training, product videos, and more. Perpetual term.
  • Expanded: Everything in Digital, plus physical spaces like retail stores, trade show booths, and event venues, as well as out-of-home advertising, film festival submissions, and gaming platforms. Perpetual term. This license covers video content displayed in physical spaces, not live event performances.
  • All Media: The broadest license. Covers broadcast TV, radio, streaming platforms (OTT, CTV, and VOD), and more. Standard license is 3 months in 1 territory, with options to extend.

Which license do I need?

All licenses include unlimited versions and edits, and each license covers one designated project. The right license depends on where your project will be distributed:

  • Personal, non-commercial project? Start with Personal.
  • Business, brand, or monetized content going online, including podcast intros and outros? Go with Digital.
  • Content displayed in a physical space, such as a retail store, trade show booth, or event venue screen, or on a digital billboard? You'll need Expanded.
  • Content airing on TV, radio, or a streaming platform like Netflix or Hulu? That's All Media.
