Are Soundstripe Licenses Valid Worldwide?

License coverage depends on your plan and where your content is distributed.

What you'll learn here

  • How territorial coverage works
  • Which plans include global distribution
  • When you need expanded coverage

How territorial coverage works

Soundstripe licenses are tied to where your content is distributed, not where you live or create content.

Your subscription gives you access to music. Your license determines where and at what scale that music can be distributed once your project is published.

Coverage depends on:

  • Your subscription plan
  • Who owns the project
  • How broadly the content will be distributed

Coverage by plan

Personal & Pro plans

Personal and Pro subscriptions allow for global distribution on supported platforms.

This includes:

  • Websites
  • Social media platforms
  • Streaming platforms

As long as the project fits your plan's ownership and usage rules, content can be distributed worldwide.

Business plans

Business plans are designed for digital single-market distribution.

  • Coverage is limited to one designated market area (DMA)
  • Typically used for regional campaigns or client work
  • Does not cover multi-market, national, or international distribution

If the content will be distributed outside a single DMA, Enterprise, or custom licensing coverage is required.

Enterprise or custom licensing

Enterprise or custom licensing is required for companies and organizations with multi-market or global distribution needs.

This includes:

  • Distribution across multiple regions or countries
  • National or worldwide campaigns
  • Web, social, podcast, digital, broadcast, or other large-scale use
  • Broadcast, theatrical, or large-scale productions
  • Expanded rights, warranties, and tailored contract terms

Enterprise and custom licenses are designed to protect the organization across all distribution channels and markets.

When you may need additional coverage

You may need expanded or Enterprise coverage if:

  • Your project will be distributed in multiple markets or regions
  • Your content will be broadcast outside a single DMA
  • Your usage exceeds your plan's ownership, platform, or scale limits
