Once I download a track, can I use it multiple times?
You can reuse tracks while subscribed, but each project needs its own license.

How project-based licensing works
Soundstripe licenses are project-based, not track-based.
This means:
-
You can reuse the same track across multiple projects, as long as each project is properly licensed
-
Each project must have its own license
-
Licensing is tied to how and where the music is used, not just the download itself
Projects can be licensed through an active subscription or through a single-use license, depending on your needs.
Reusing tracks while your subscription is active
While your subscription is active:
- You may license the same track for multiple projects
- Each project must be registered separately and receive its own license
- For YouTube projects, each video requires its own clearance code
- Clearance codes cannot be reused across multiple videos or projects
This ensures every use is properly documented and protected.
What happens after cancellation
After your subscription ends:
- Existing licensed projects remain fully covered
- You do not lose rights to work you already created or published
- You cannot use previously licensed tracks for new projects
- You cannot generate new YouTube clearance codes
To use Soundstripe music in new projects after cancellation, you'll need to resubscribe or purchase a single-use license.
Using a single-use license
A single-use license covers one specific project.
With a single-use license:
-
The track is licensed for one defined project and approved distribution scope
-
Reusing the same track in a new project requires a new license, either through a subscription or another single-use purchase
Single-use licenses are a good option for creators who no longer need a subscription but want to license music for a specific project.
Important reminders
- One project = one license
- One YouTube video = one clearance code
